This is my mom’s recipe, which I’ve tweaked, which she tweaked from the old bakers’ chocolate recipe on the box. She used to make it in one bowl – but I prefer to dirty every dish I can. I like these because they taste like brownie mix brownies, but aren’t. (Weird right? We all have our vices). Why the orange in the picture? Because I like my brownies with orange juice, not milk… try it, it is pretty awesome.
1.0 brownies
Ingredients:
- 1⁄2 cup __________________________ butter
- 3 _____________________________eggs
- 3 1⁄2 oz __________________________dark chocolate (melted)
- 1 pinch ________________________ of salt
- 1 TBSP _________________________ vanilla
- 1 1⁄3 Cup ________________________ sugar
- 1 tsp __________________________ instant espresso
- 1 Cups ________________________ flour
Instructions:
- Turn the oven on, to 350°F
- Butter a pan, and coat with sugar (I use the all edges pan)
- Melt the chocolate (I used a double boiler, but any method will work)
- Add the butter to the chocolate and stir to melt the butter.
- Beat the eggs, with the sugar, add the vanilla and espresso.
- Mix the chocolate in to the egg mixture.
- Gently stir the flour in.
- Pour into the pan, and give it a wack to get air bubbles out.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is dry, but a toothpick comes out a little sticky. You don’t want them too dry.
